Assisteens of Capistrano Valley

Young adults participating in philanthropic, charitable service, volunteering and fundraising to benefit their community while cultivating leadership, public speaking, organizational, business, and other practical life skills and by participating in self-improvement programs.

We’re teens in grades 8-12 committed to making a positive impact in our community via respect, leadership, and care. Monthly meetings are conducted during the school year by members (with supervision from their moms) to plan ways to serve those in need.  Members implement their plans at philanthropic projects and fundraising activities that take place throughout the school year outside of regular monthly meetings.

A secondary purpose of the program is to give members learning opportunities for self-improvement. Specifically, speakers who are experts in their field are invited to present topics such as self-defense, skincare, and college planning at the monthly meetings.

Through their consistent participation in this 4 to 5 year program, Assisteens have opportunities for character building experiences fostering key life skills including:

  • Accountability

  • Collaboration

  • Commitment

  • Event Planning

  • Generosity

  • Integrity

  • Leadership

  • Mentorship

  • Organization

  • Poise

  • Public Speaking Skills

  • Time Management

Finally, Assisteens provides an environment to build life skills, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.
